If seeing the bright green grasses of Ireland tickles your fancy, the best time to fly is in December, around the Christmas holiday. Imagine spending Christmas in an Irish inn or castle! The airfare is around $900/person, roundtrip depending of course on where you are flying from, time of book, date of departure, and airline choice. The weather in Ireland varies very little between seasons, so it makes little difference when you travel there. In December there are concerts and festivals that you can attend, like the New Ross Nollaig Festival held in New Ross. This festival includes a collection of outdoors markets, and a national caroling contest.

Want to wander the orient? Going to Japan in the summer is your best bet. The rainy season in Japan deters most travelers from making the trek, but there are parts of Japan that dont have a rainy season, and if a little bit of rain wont make you melt, you can enjoy Japan with out the crowds of tourists that you would have during the spring and fall. If you are going to Japan in the summer, you should rent a car and look for local Onsen, or hot springs, to soak in. Travel to Hokkaido and enjoy the hot springs they have there, the rainy season also doesnt reach Hokkaido. Japan is still an expensive trip, but it is made more affordable by choosing to go during a tourist lull. Going anywhere during a tourist lull is also a good way to see the culture of the locals.

If you are sick of the cold and snow in the winter, maybe a Caribbean escape is for you. Places in the Caribbean offer all inclusive hotel stays. They are overwhelmed with people enjoying their vacations in the summer, but in the winter they need people to keep themselves in business. This will mean discounted air fare and all other prices while you are traveling. Plus, it would be awesome to return to your daily life with a beach fresh tan, while everyone else is pale and pasty.

If you want to travel somewhere in this big, wide world, there is a way to do it, even on a budget. It all comes down to timing.
